Tier 4 in Kent. Wow. I am sure we all saw it coming, but that is a tough one to take, only a few days before Christmas. We have all hung in there on this emotional rollercoaster all year, followed the rules, and we have done the best we can, and I am sure I am not the only one who was really, really looking forward to Christmas this year - I was expecting it to look different, sure, but not like this.
I want to say - as an individual - lockdown has devastated many small businesses and this is why I set up Remade Reloved - to give small businesses a way to connect with customers. So I would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting both my small business and those I am working with. Buying with us instead of the big guys of business may well have helped to keep a family afloat or just to afford that Christmas present that their child really, really wanted. Every penny spent with us has gone to individuals or small businesses who put their heart and soul into everything they make.
Whatever Christmas is now going to look like for you, please take care of yourself. We have all been through a lot this year, and it's not ending on the 31st December. There has been anger, and grief, and fighting. But there has also been a lot of good, with communities pulling together to take care of the most vulnerable people and so many shows of support, love and respect. For me, this year has been another year in my battle against anxiety and depression and I have learned a lot about myself and the community around me, who gave me so much support in setting up this business. That's why I decided to write this. I have been there, done that, got a whole wardrobe of t shirts. The most important thing is your mental health, and there is no shame in finding things difficult. If you need help, it is out there. Talk to the people who care about you - we all need to continue looking after each other.
